The High Altitude Garden Club’s design team, Susanne Pelletier and Jackie Hoffmann, working with Vicki and Heather at Elm Avenue Greenhouse in Canon City, are pleased to present their designs for this project. It is the club’s most visible project and also the most fun!
We again take this opportunity to thank our contributors, our members and of special mention, the towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff without whom our projects would become much more difficult. Also a special thanks to the organizers and contributors of the the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation and the Spirit Campaign for supporting the non profit organizations of the valley.
Elm Avenue Greenhouse, Canon City, grows our plants from seed and houses the plants in the greenhouse pictured above until the temperatures are warm enough in the Wet Mountain Valley to allow the club members to plant outside. This usually occurs in the latter part of May.
Our Barrels in the coming summer (2024) will be planted on May 23 and will follow the design below:
The four planters along Main Street Westcliffe will be planted on the same date by club members. Our Planter Design:
Club Members visited Elm Street Greenhouse to enjoy the plants as they continue to grow in readiness for May planting in Westcliffe and Silver Cliff. Pictures follow:
